While all of Edwin's concerts are always great, they realy have a special touch for me now hanging out with our new friends from EdwinFans !! EMB really has some awesome fans, and meeting you all and getting to know you has been alot of fun. It's nice to now put a face to these screen names and to get to know you better. Everyone is so great ! Linda and I had a lot of fun hanging out with Charlene, Sarah, Angel and her daughter Sarah, and Jo Anne. Can't wait until next time !

Randy that was so sweet!!! You and Linda are such great friends and I am so happy to be able to not only get to go to awesome Edwin shows with you guys, but for me to be able to work with you and Linda has been the highlight of becoming an Edwinfans member. I never knew when I sent that first letter to you that it was going to turn into something so wonderful. I'm thoroughly passionate about what I do here for Edwinfans and wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world, not to mention that I finally get to use my marketing degree! Meeting such great friends is just the icing on the cake. Thanks for providing the forum for us to share our enjoyment of EMB's music and for meeting great friends. I look forward to a lasting friendship with you guys, many, many shows to share, and to taking edwinfans to the top!!!

Hugs and Luv to you both (and Gracie too)

This may not be the spot to post this question but as I was reading the posts above I just had to ask you this Angel, Is your daughters name Sami? If it is that is my oldest daughters name as well and why I am so curious is because THAT is how I spell her name too( I don't see it spelled like that very often IF at all)
Sorry if this is completely OT!

Hey Colleen,

Her name is Sarah but SaMi are the first 2 letters of her first and last name. (I wanted to name her SAM after her 3 aunts (Susan, Anita, and Marie) but her dad wouldn't let me. (we're divorced thank goodness) LMAO.

And your Sami's name story?

Wow Angel that is a very cool story! Mine on the other hand isn't quite as meaningful.....First of all her full name is Samantha(duh), I have always loved that name so that is 90% of the reason we named our first born that, the other 10% of the meaning is that I was a really big Sammy Hagar fan(still LOVE him just not a lot of his latest material and not I can't drive 55 he has a ton better material that was never played on the radio)with that being said I did not think that the spelling(mmy) was appropriate for a girl so I spelled her name with on M and an I. It just looked more feminine. See, I told you it was not that profound. ;)

Aww thanks Jo Anne! It was really awesome to meet you, too. Hopefully, next time, we'll be able to meet up before the show and really chit chat. I'm just SO glad that we happened to stand next to you at the Farm--otherwise, who knows when I would've stumbled upon edwinfans.com!!! So, thanks to you for bringing me here! Looking forward to getting to know you better.

LOL, OMG that would have been so mean! I bet you were thrilled you did not have to burden your child with a name like that! I am all for family tradition, but......

Eeesh...thank goodness for small miracles. You could've been VERY creative with nicknames, though...give him some semblance of normalcy haha j/k :0)

At Music Farm, she kinda got dubbed SaMi (first 2 letters of her 1st and last name) cuz there were 2 Sarahs. (She started out as mini...that was cute)...

I grew up in Miami as 'little marie' by all of my sister's friends (hated it). Glad I'm all grown up now (kinda grown up anyway) !!!

Has anyone got a clue as to what they are playing on the acoustic shows? Just wondering what to expect Sunday night. Hopefully they can come out of the blocks with some of the new stuff.

Peace,

Kurt

Do you know who all is part of the acoustic show?

When I went to the Brunswick show in March it was just Edwin and Craig.
They did See off this Mtn, Island Song, No Choice, things I didn't think they usually would do..and of course the usual I'll Pee & ICNAFM and Freebird (kidding)(...that was a show where someone yelled freebird...wonder who). Edwin told a ton of jokes and gave Craig a hard time about his boots.

The last time I saw them at 3rd & Lindsley it was Edwin, Craig, and Larry. They did a lot of the old standards and Maia Sharp came in for say anything since she lives in Nashville. Dave was there that night too walking around in the audience. We will just have to see what they have for a set list for the night.

Peace,

Kurt

The concert wasn't acoustic after all it was full band except Pete wasn't present. They were in fine form after Megan Coffee opened up and warmed up the crowd. Sarah has the set list so I'll refrain from screwing it up and let her put the correct one up here. Edwin did close with 3 AM which was a treat. You don't get to hear that too often. Nice variety of old and new material tonight. Everyone in the band was in fine form, and I'm happy to say they all looked to be having a really great time on the stage.

In Knoxville it seemed like something was up during the show. Everyone kind of looked a little preoccupied or something. No encore either at that one. Tonight we got three songs and the everyone in the band had a smile the entire night. Larry was shredding the guitar on the solos, and everyone else was pretty much hitting the mark too.

I got to meet Angie and Larry tonight on the front row. Sarah was kind enough to save Rhonda and I a seat at the table with her mother. Doors opened at 6 and the show was sold out. Lots of unhappy folks walking back to their cars. I was happy because I bought my tickets and had them at the will call ready and waiting.

Someone had to yell "Freebird" from the audience tonight and it drew and immediate finger from Edwin and a no charge to follow. I'm sure he's used to it but, he truthfully didn't seem amused at the time. I guess that gets old after a while.

For those of you that missed the chance to come to this show, you missed a good one. Hope to see some of you at the Exit In in August.

Pictures to come tomorrow. No UGLY brown boots to report.

Peace,

Kurt

I still need to resize my pictures and reformat them from .tif to .jpg format and will have some up later tonight. I'm sure Sarah and Angie got some excellent photos and Sarah will more than likely beat me getting them posted.

See you folks in chat on Wednesday. Got ball games with the kids tonight.

Peace,

Kurt
