Directions on how to Vote for films during the 2005 Film Festival
1- Go to www.fliff.com (http://www.fliff.com/)
2- Scroll all the way down to where it says Festival Forum.
3- Look for where it says New at the Forum. Click the “here” link
4- Click the link that says Festival 2005
5- This will take you to a page where at the top right corner you will need to register to vote on films.
6- Follow the directions to register if you are currently not a member.
7- Then you will scroll down on the page of Festival 2005. Look for where it says "Vote for Features", click there and you will see the first thing on that list that will allow you to vote. Please cast a vote for "Strike the Tent."
8- Make sure to vote by Jan. 31, 2005 so we can see who the people’s choice award will be awarded to.

Ok here's the deal ~

The film was slated to be featured in FLIFF (Ft Lauderdale Film Festival) and the day it was scheduled was the same day the hurricane was affecting S. Florida. According to my source, they were quite literally "striking the tent" to get out of dodge.

The voting they had for Features had Strike the Tent in the lead by a long shot over The Cleaning Lady. Here's the problem. Since they knew not many people saw the film at the festival, I think it was disqualified. Oops. So the voting has now reverted to e-mail and does not include Tent. It's between Aurora Borealis, The Cleaning Lady & Transamerica. :(

The film was in a festival here in Greensboro and another in Arizona last week.

I spoke with the film's rep & he said that he is currently working out the details of its release. It hasn't yet been rated but based on early reports, it's a great film and is being well received by audiences.

I was supposed to go to see it in Ft Lauderdale (150 miles south of me) but the storms were bad that weekend (Oct 23rd) so we stayed home.
