You Know......

Nothing says I'm winding things down like a greatest hits selection.

I sure could use a new album of all new material. I enjoyed the last one a great deal even if it was a departure from the normal more Edwiny dirgey ballady type of material. Wonder if there is anything like that in the works down the road?

Sorry if that seems a little grumpy. I am mildly bummed for the fourth. Not only did the fireworks display get started too early here in Nashvegas due to some stormy weather that came in a little faster than expected, but they found ex Titans quarterback Steve McNair shot to death today in downtown Nashville. 36 years old is just too young to drop off the face of the earth with four kids and a wife left behind. The police are really tight lipped about what happened. They found Steve and another female (not the wife) shot to death in a condo.

Peace,

Kurt

Nothing is worse than that kind of death...and so young at 36.

Yeah and just more and more weird crap comes out as time goes by. Now there's a strip bar manager in Minnesota that claims that his star stripper had a six year affair with McNair and that she was happy knowing he was married. This twenty year old Iranian girl that killed him told her friends and family back in Florida that Steve was divorcing his wife and going to take care of her for the rest of her life. She was starting to have a breakdown about a week prior when she saw another female leaving McNair's condo and followed her to her house. Then crap just kept getting worse.

She was losing her roommate and was going to have to come up with the other half of the rent.

She was still in contact with her old boyfriend who was still in love with her,

Steve didn't actually pay off the Escalade her got her a few weeks prior for her twentieth birthday so she had to make payments on the new car as well as her old car.

She gets a DUI the Thursday before she shoots him. THe cop, who I think was the officer that pulled Steve over in 2007 and gave him a DUI just 200 yards from the spot she got hers, told her McNair was pretty upset and would not come talk to her.

She refused a breathalyzer test and actually told the officer that she wasn't drunk, just high. Although she did try to retract the statement.

The officer called McNair up on her phonefor her while she was handcuffed in the back of his patrol car with a camera rolling. McNair told her to say nothing and she just could not resist to run her mouth. to the cop.

Some idiot that she worked with or knew from work sold her a 9mm pistol outside of her place of work after she got her DUI. The cops won't release the person's name which is probably a good thing since everyone here loved McNair and would probably retaliate against whoever it is.

It's just a damn cavalcade of nonsense that you just can't fabricate. The real sad part is this very talented athlete just could not make good personal decisions. His wife claimed she had no idea he was having an affair, and she might very well not have known a thing. Trouble is this guy had two kids by her, and two kids by someone else in Mississippi.

I had an opportunity to meet him, Robert Gatty (the guy that made the 911 call) and another associate outside a little meat and three in downtown Nashville called Arnold's a few years back. I met my wife for lunch and as we were leaving he was holding the door open for my wife and me, so I stopped and talked to him for a little bit. He was a very approachable person and very easy to talk to. He had just gotten traded to Baltimore and while we were talking one of his old friends pulled up and started talking with him kind of cutting our conversation short, which is cool because who the hell am I to interupt him in the first place. As I walked over to tell my wife I'd see her at the house later, he told the guy he would talk to him when he was finished talking with me and he came over to my car and apologized. I got two autographs for my boys and thanked him. It struck me as a little odd that he would have kind of brushed the guy off when it was obvious they had done business in the past. I guess that's part of why everyone here liked him so much.

My janitor at worked just killed me last Monday when she came into my office to clean out the trash. We made comment about what a waste it was to die over some girl like he did. My janitor is about 50 and very composed. SHe leaned over and told me that it just goes to show you (then she added) pardon my French, but all pussy isn't good pussy now is it?

Nuff said?

Peace,

Just not a piece with a 9 mm.

Kurt

Wow quite a story. I did recognize his name on the news when I heard the story. I actually stopped to see who it was when they said breaking news. But I wouldn't have known him from OJ (cept that OJ's an old guy and probably can't leap a row of chairs in an airport anymore...not that he has access to that now either. and boy how that makes me smile that he's behind bars again). Ok, enough rambling on my part.

Glad to know he's a nice guy and that he made you feel welcome in his life.

I'm not sure how welcome I was in his life, I think it's the same kind of perspective Edwin has with fans after the show. He's used to it and knows it's a part of the gig. I've seen Edwin roll his eyes at fans a few times when they are gushing and making him a little uncomfortable. He's smart enough not to say anything though.

Peace,

Kurt
