Well, it all started with Edwin's famous hit, I'll Be.* This song had become such a milestone for my relationship with my girlfriend that one day she bought tickets to see Edwin at the House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.* We were both instantly impressed with Edwin and his music.* Within a year, we found ourselves at yet another concert, and as we learned more about Edwin we both fell in love with not only his music, but Edwin's values and directions.
By the time we were on our 3rd and 4th concerts, my girlfriend had turned into an Edwin McCain nut, buying all of his CDs and keeping a very close eye on dates for local concert events (local meant anything in the same state*
)
Eventually, opportunities came about to meet Edwin and talk to him, especially during his accoustic tour in 2003.* We also had the opportunity to do a meet and greet at a concert, spending part of an afternoon hanging out and talking to Edwin.* Eventually we then moved on to taking the opportunity to meet the rest of the band: Larry, Craig, Lee and Dave.* All a great bunch of people !
We have now lost count on just how many concerts and times we've met Edwin, but I do know that there are many more to come.* Edwin is such a personal type of person, he loves to meet people and talk to them.
Well, these are the events that have led up to EdwinFans.com.* I saw a need for a real website that was a place for Edwin Fans to go and chat about their favorite artist, and to catch up on upcoming news and events with Edwin.* Since I own my own hosting company, having the resources and ability to do this, it just made sense.
I'm starting the site out to be very simple, and will grow it as needed as visitors and members increase in time.
